We were excited to be able to bring two large-scale site-specific installations to the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, WV during their grand reopening! The installations were unveiled on December 4th during the Grand Reopening Gala and remained on exhibit through January 7th. A hands-on activity for kids will accompany the exhibition.
The installations were primarily made out of paper shopping bags donated by two of the Malls stores, Macys and Rose Tree Boutique. The Macy bags were transformed into Lisa Schumaiers installation, which is based on the theme of an enchanted forest. Kelly OBriens installation used the Rose Tree Boutiques signature pink and black paper bags to create a whimsical and contemporary installation with beautiful handmade origami flowers and butterflies that led up to the 40" tall skylights.
