Artomatic is Back - Opens May 18 in Crystal City
Artomatic 2012 is a month-long art festival in the DC area that is "by artists, for everyone." It is absolutely free to the public. This year's event is in a former office building that's slated for demolition. It features 10 floors of art by more than 1,000 artists: Visual art, music, performance, film, fashion, and more. Workshops, tours, seminars and other events are held all month long. We're bringing five awesome artists to this anticipated event, don't miss it!
We're jurying & curating a show for Workhouse Art Center in Lorton
We served as the jurors for the Creature Comforts sculpture and installation exhibition, choosing work that covered a wide range of literal and conceptual approaches to the idea of what creature comforts means in today’s modern society. In addition to this exhibition, we were asked to curate a site-specific installation exhibition in an adjoining gallery. We are thrilled to be able to work with two extremely talented and well-known local artists, Novie Trump and James Walker. Both of these artists created their own unique interpretations to the theme Creature Comforts.

The exhibit opens May 4th - CLICK HERE to see the work!
Large Scale Fashion Inspired Installations, sponsored by Macy's!
We are hitting the road and heading to Huntington, WV to bring two large-scale installations to the Huntington Mall for their Grand Reopening Gala. Germany-based artist Kelly O'Brien, and DC-area artist Lisa Schumaier have created two incredible pieces of art that will be unveiled on Sunday December 4th and will stay on display through the holiday season until January 7th. Lisa's installation uses recycled & salvaged material to create an enchanted forest, along with a dramatic dress made from Macy's paper shopping bags. Kelly's piece, titled Grace's Garden, features a figure swinging in the main entrance atrium with a dress made of hundreds of paper flowers and a long hanging train made from Rosetree Boutique paper shopping bags. We are SO very excited about this project and will post pictures as soon as we have them!
Getting ready for FotoWeek DC!
We are really excited about our upcoming exhibit of photographs at Morrison House, a Kimpton Hotel. The artwork is by F11, a women's photography collective from the DC-area, featuring the series "Through Time," which focuses on abandoned and forgotten spaces.

The exhibit opens on November 5th and will stay on display until November 27th, located at 116 S. Alfred Street, Alexandria, VA.

Join us on Wednesday, November 9th at 7pm for a free lecture and reception.
