Hand-made Bricks on found pallet
Ben Graham-Putter is a sculptor living and working in Baltimore, MD. Having recently graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), he is Co-Founding an organization called Charm City Studio, providing space for artists to work, exhibit, and talk about their art. His processes bring factory production, standardization of construction materials and methods of construction into an art context. Through the production of bricks and pallets, his work explores the way we see, and do not see, the world we live in by elevating typically ubiquitous objects into sculpture through a focus on craftsmanship and composition. The materials he uses in his sculptures, clay and wood, are formed in layers over long periods, and reference time, history, tradition and memory.
